My lifelong love affair with cats
Hello, my name is Sandra. I've been a cat owner my entire life and currently share my home with six wonderful felines. There are two ginger brothers I've had since they were 8 weeks old, and four others who travelled all the way from Spain to join my family. I absolutely adore cats; getting to know their individual personalities and quirks is a true joy. I feel I have a natural affinity with most cats, understanding their needs and behaviours instinctively. Cat sitting allows me to make lovely new cat friends without expanding my own furry family further! I also volunteer at the Blue Cross as a cat socialiser and before I had so many cats of my own I used to foster for Cats Protection.
Meet my furry family
'Tintin' my first Spanish Adoption, from a post on Facebook with his heart breaking story I offered to take him, he was so fear aggressive you couldn't make eye contact, get near him to even try to touch him. It took months of patience and with baby steps he became the cat he was always meant to be, a big softy!
'Miami' after Tintin I began working with the Spanish rescue, bringing cats over to be rehomed in the UK. We brought Miami's kittens over, they thought she was feral then one day she came to a volunteer who grabbed her and took her to the vets. Her age was estimated to be around 12, our plan was to bring her over and live as a semi feral in a stable business I had found. 4 days after she arrived she decided she liked being in a nice warm house, jumped on my lap demanding to be stroked! She's 18 now and loving life.
'Billie' my tabby Siamese, who was Billy till she was due to travel to me when it was discovered 'Billy' was female. She was painfully shy and scared of everything so my plan was to work with her with a view to finding her a nice home. Then came Covid, months later when I could finally look for a home for her she was so integrated in the household that I kept her.
'Augustus aka Gus' my last Spanish arrival. I have always had 'a thing' for white cats and never owned one, when he appeared in Spain with a big abscess on his head I was smitten. He loves everyone and winds up all the others and he is Pica, meaning he eats non food items. His favourite meal is anything plastic especially bags, but he has had a snack or 2 on my oven gloves, dishcloths and lately all the white plastic on any window handle he can reach. I've now learnt to be very tidy and keep certain things behind doors!
'Loras & Renly' my ginger brothers. They have been with me from 8 weeks old and are inseparable, though both have been a great help settling in all the other cats. Loras is as intelligent as Renly is daft! Who doesn't love a ginger? They are the most affectionate and the worst mischief makers!

My background includes working part-time in an emergency veterinary clinic, and I hold training in first aid and CPR. Additionally, I have diplomas in cat behaviour, anxiety, and stress, which equip me to understand and address various feline emotional states.

Every visit, whether once or twice daily for a minimum of 30 minutes, is tailored precisely to your cat's needs and desires. This includes feeding, fresh water, litter tray cleaning, playtime, cuddles, and grooming. I also take care of your home by taking in/out bins, adjusting lights, opening/closing curtains, and watering plants.
